FHE night!
We went over to my buddy Anthony’s place to have FHE with his family.
When you shift from Singles ward to Family ward they expect you to figure out your own FHE activities. We’ve had fun doing our own but I was reminded how much fun it can be to do FHE with friends tonight.

Anthony and his wife Rebekah are a wonderful couple and have the cutest daughter ever! Veronica!

(and she knows how to use the iPad2! nice!)

We brought Apple and it was ridiculously cute watching her play with the bunny.
I’m pretty sure if we have a daughter even close to as cute as Veronica she’s going to have me wrapped around her finger.

We talked about goals tonight (one of my favorite subjects) Here’s a great quote from the evening:
“When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates.” (President Monson)

We talked a bit about the infamous goal books I set up each year.

Man, what a great night with a great family!

? What’d you guys do for FHE?

fhe: designer night.

Tonight’s FHE?
Designing headers for our blogs!

Yes, we’re nerds. We both graduated from the Communications department. I’m a PR major. Leah did the Print Journalism design track. This means that she is a pro at all this design stuff. It works out great for me because she can help me out with all sorts of stuff and she’s got all these great ideas.

Check out the new header above…

The next step?
Buy a domain name. Get it hosted. And get serious about blogging 🙂

I’m so excited!

Oh and our little bunny Apple decided to try and help as well…

Fun FHE project!

Hhmm, we didn’t really do a spiritual thought tonight… Here’s one for all of us –
“We cannot afford to neglect this heaven-inspired program. It can bring spiritual growth to each member of the family, helping him or her to withstand the temptations which are everywhere. The lessons learned in the home are those that last the longest.” (Thomas S. Monson, Ensign May 2005)

family… isn’t it about, time?

Tonight was our first FHE as a married couple…
And luckily for us – we got to spend it with my family!

Kourtney is in town, with her boyfriend Jake so we all went out to eat at Malawis Pizza in the Riverwoods. (which, by the way, Jake is AWESOME!)

Sidenote: Malwais Pizza is amazing! It’s a high end pizza place that has a wonderful selection of traditional pizzas as well as dessert pizzas! And if that isn’t enough – every time you buy a pizza they feed a child in Africa!

I LOVE being with my family. Even when the circumstances aren’t the most ideal. Kory is going through a rough patch right now. I feel for him, I really do. I wish there was more I could do for him.

What do you do when one of your best friends is going through a tough breakup?

You burn everything that reminds them of the former girlfriend!
So, our FHE took us back to Aunt Val’s so that we could use the fire pit to send her up in smoke (figuratively, of course).

There is something special in the moments following a breakup. You have the opportunity to see someone unguarded. I have never seen my brother like this. If you know him, you know he is ridiculously confident (and rightfully so) and seemingly very sure of himself. The past week or two I have seen a side of my brother I have often wondered about. He has never talked about emotions for as long as I can remember.

I have looked up to him for years now (mostly since he left on his mission) but these past few weeks have brought even greater admiration and love. I would do anything for him (the same as I would for ANY of my family).

“Let his family rejoice and turn away their hearts from affliction…” (D&C 124:76)

So, how do you get over a bad breakup?
I guess there is no real answer.
You just take it day by day….
