video contest winners.

Months and months ago I decided a video contest for the store would be a great idea.
There had been such a buzz around crowdsourcing that it seemed like a great way to get a lot of different ideas for much smaller costs.
It worked.

But not nearly as well as I hoped it would.

We had 3 entries.
2 were outstanding.
1 was, well, it was pretty weird actually.

In theory crowdsourcing is a great way to get content when you have a larger fan base to work with. It allows people to use their creativity to create a unique piece for your company without the cost of a true consultant or outside firm.

I would definitely try this again – but not for another couple of years when hopefully, we’ve garnered a greater share in the marketplace.

This time around it seems that the idea was executed a little too early. I should’ve seen that. However, we got 2 very, very well done videos, so it was not a bust.
And I definitely learned from this experience.
“these things were spoken unto you for your profit and learning.” (D&C 46:1)

Congratulations to our two winners:
Joey Daniel

Anthony Ambriz

Have you been into the store yet?
