harry potter drama.

Last night we went out to eat with some good friends of mine.
During the course of dinner we started talking about the new Harry Potter movie that opens in a few days.

There’s a nude scene in the new Harry Potter movie,” was the comment of one of my buddies wives.
As a result of rumored nude scene she was going to wait to watch the movie till she could get it CleanFlixed.

Fair enough.
“If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.” (Article of Faith 13)

I didn’t believe it though.
As far as I can remember the books never took an explicitly sexual path.

So, I came home and looked around for some reviews.

Turns out my friend isn’t the only one who is up in arms over this alleged scene…

It’s funny how it only takes a few people to cry wolf and then an entire area is in uproar over something that doesn’t even exist.

A nude scene?

Here is a recent clip from the Salt lake Tribune:

Radcliffe is indeed shirtless, while Watson told MTV News that she was wearing a strapless bra.

Both were also wearing silver paint to create a nightmare effect for poor Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) — whose worst fear is that Hermione (Watson) would reject the poor-but-valiant Ron for the illustrious Harry Potter (Radcliffe).

They are seen in this state for about 3 seconds.

They are seen with enough mist, smoke and special-effects additions that any flashes of skin are obscured.

The movie is rated PG-13, “for some sequences of intense action violence, frightening images and brief sensuality.”

This is not the first movie in the series to earn a PG-13; “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” and “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” did, too. Those films, though, earned their ratings only for violence and frightening images.”

Thank you Salt Lake Tribune for clearing up the unnecessary uproar over a scene that is not exactly what everyone is claiming it is.

Would I have still gone to see Harry Potter if there had truly been a nude scene in it?
Good question.

We are all given our own agency.

I’ve used that agency to read ALL 7 books and watch 6 movies thus far.
I’ve got to see the 7th!

We’re all at different parts on the path.
My current path leads to the Wynnsong theater down the street.

? Would the nude scene have impacted your decision to watch or not watch the movie?

Golly, seriously a nude scene is bare boobs or back/front sides… a shirtless guy while not modest isn’t nudity to me. And since the books have no nudity its a non-issue I think. But thats just me.
