s’mores bar.

We had our Utah wedding reception last night.
It was just beautiful!

My Aunt Valerie let us use her backyard (thanks so much!) and she helped pull everything together so that it looked incredible.

We decided to do a smore’s bar (well, Leah and Val came up with it – but I’ll include myself in that ‘we’). We had fire pits set up throughout the backyard and tikki torches lighting everything up.

We had ALL kinds of different things you could put on your s’mores! I’ve never seen so many different variations!

LOVED it. Just loved it.
I also loved the temperature. I didn’t break a sweat once.
At our reception in Arizona the sweat had made it’s way through all of my layers of clothing and through my suit coat. SO hot!

I love getting together with family and friends, it doesn’t matter what the occasion is! It was a nice little party that I’m glad we did.

I even got to see some families from Texas that I have not seen in years!

I love reunions.
Last night felt like a reunion.

I wonder if that is the same feeling you will have when you die and cross over to meet up with family and friends who have already passed away.

It makes me think of when Alma met back up with his friends (the sons of Mosiah) and they had this wonderful reunion.

“Alma did rejoice exceedingly to see his brethren; and what added more to his joy, they were still his brethren in the Lord…” (Alma 17:2)

? What do you like to put on your s’mores?

I wanted so badly to make it…but I guess my mom’s 80th birthday celebration really had to be on the top of my agenda. Best wishes to you and Leah – you are in my thoughts and in my heart!! BTW – a S’Mores Bar looks like a total fun time…what a great idea!
